Commercial Caretaker / Cleaning Operative

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting a Commercial Caretaker/Cleaning Operative to assist in the operation of the Markets Complex and associated casual markets, which could be outdoors.

Responsibilities

1. Perform day-to-day cleaning, maintenance, and caretaking of the Burnley Markets complex and casual markets.
2. Ensure the overall security of Burnley Markets and undertake responsibilities for the building in the absence of senior supervision.

Requirements

• Experience in industrial cleaning.
• Ability to lift and carry reasonably heavy objects.
• Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision.
• Literate and numerate with good communication skills.
• Experience operating fire alarm systems and securing premises.

Work Schedule

• Saturday work required.
• Overtime coverage during holidays and possibly Sundays up to Christmas.
• Flexibility to work within a rota pattern, covering holidays or illnesses as needed.
