Sovereign Network Group, a major housing association, seeks a CAPEX subject matter expert on a fixed-term contract through April 2028. You will provide commercial insight, analytical support and assurance to align capital investment with regulatory, financial and operational requirements.

Key duties includeCAPEX queries handling, monthly performance analysis, budgeting support, and benchmarking to drive improvements. Strong Excel, FRs102 knowledge and sector experience are valued.

Formación

• Understanding accounting standards for capitalisation of development costs (FRS 102 Section 17).
• Strong Excel skills with risk, financial planning and modelling experience.
• Ability to analyse financial and non-financial data and derive driving metrics.
• Strategic thinker with commercial acumen and values-driven approach.
• Experience in the Social Housing sector is desirable.
• Knowledge of process and performance improvement.
• Experience in repairs and finance systems such as Uniclass/URM or Workday.

Responsabilidades

• Act as point of contact for all CAPEX related queries.
• Support monthly CAPEX performance analysis including job costing and variance analysis.
• Assist in annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting for capital workstreams with leads.
• Provide detailed commercial insight at month-end and explain movements.
• Benchmark against peers to drive strategic decisions and improvements.

Salary: £38,000.00 - £47,000.00 Per year

The role:

This is an initial fixed term contract until April 2028. The successful applicant will act as Property Services subject matter expert for CAPEX, providing commercial insight, analytical support and assurance to ensure capital investment is well-planned, accurately recorded and aligned with regulatory, financial and operational requirements.

Responsibilities will include:

• Acting as point of contact for all CAPEX-related queries
• Support monthly analysis of CAPEX performance, including job costing, average unit costs, value for money and variance analysis.
• Assist in the annual budget and quarterly forecasting process for capital workstreams, collaborating with operational leads.
• Providing detailed commercial insight at month-end, ensuring movements against budget and forecast are understood and addressed.
• Conducting benchmarking against other housing associations and external sectors to inform strategic decision-making and drive continuous improvement.

To be successful in this role you'll need:
