An independent insurance broker north of Sheffield is seeking a Commercial Insurance Team Leader to oversee a Handler team, manage diverse insurance programmes, and support business strategy initiatives. Overview

We\'re delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading independent insurance broker north of Sheffield. This is a rare opportunity to work closely with the Directors, support a growing Handler team, and play a key role in shaping the future direction of the business.

Responsibilities
  • As Commercial Insurance Team Leader, oversee a team of Handlers managing diverse commercial insurance programmes.
  • Provide both strategic and hands-on support, including servicing the 15 largest clients with a combined GWP of c£1.5m.
  • Support Directors on business strategy and growth initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of experienced staff and apprentices.
  • Drive technical development and enhance the client journey.
  • Manage workloads, service standards, and team performance.
  • Embed company values and foster a positive, collaborative culture.
  • Ensure compliance, accuracy, and professionalism at all times.
  • Develop relationships with insurers and play a key role in enhancing market offerings.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in commercial insurance.
  • Previous leadership or team management exposure (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of FCA/regulatory frameworks.
  • Cert CII qualification (or working towards).
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach.
  • Acturis experience (desirable).
