Commercial Assistant – Infrastructure Projects

Job summary

United Infrastructure is seeking a Commercial Assistant to join our fast-growing team. You’ll support the commercial function across the full lifecycle of projects, from measuring completed works to approving subcontractor supply chain applications, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

The role requires familiarity with NHF SoR Rates, solid Excel skills, and a proactive, collaborative mindset. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are desirable to support nationwide project

Qualifications

• Experience in NHF SoR Rates or similar
• Bespoke Sor Rates
• Familiarity with the construction industry
• 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at 9-4 (grade C or above), including Math, English, and ideally a Science
• Any previous Level 4 related qualification or equivalent discipline is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Basic understanding of standard methods of measurement
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to produce accurate work under tight deadlines
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Enthusiasm, commitment, and flexibility
• Willingness to take responsibility for own development and extend knowledge of software packages
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Previous experience in the construction industry is desirable
• Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel as required

Responsibilities

• Measuring completed works to billing processes and approving subcontractor supply chain applications
• Contract management in line with NEC 3/4 (Options A & C)
• Deliver accurate and timely completed works measures and billing
• Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation and Earned Value Analysis reports, maintaining documentation
