Commercial Assistant

Livingston

Permanent, Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Salary up to £32,000 per annum

About the role:

We are seeking a Commercial Assistant to join our team in Livingston. In this role, you will support commercial control by analysing existing supply chain partners and material costs across our FM contracts. Your responsibilities will include reporting on current supply chain expenditure, ensuring value for money, identifying discrepancies in comparable services, and proposing cost-saving solutions. You will also engage with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate more competitive pricing, ensuring a comprehensive and strategic approach.

  • Analyse costs contained on work orders, including sub-contractor data submissions and supplier costs, reporting findings to management.
  • Liaison with sub-contractors and suppliers to build and maintain relationships, identifying holistic synergies and preferred suppliers.
  • Advise the local branches and management on best value options for service delivery and material costs, identifying savings.
  • Ensure the customer experience is central to all activities by adopting a professional manner when communicating with all stakeholders This includes but is not limited to appearance, company ID, maintaining a high standard of Health & Safety requirements, and keep all supplied company assets in a good condition in line with the company policies.
  • Provide assistance with any other tasks that may arise commercially.
  • Assist mobilisation teams with implementation of new schemes through on -boarding specialists.
