Job description

Purpose of the Role

To support commercial managers and senior commercial managers in delivering the control period 6 (CP6) contract, focusing on cost accuracy and subcontract management.

Person Specification

Essential

• Experience in a commercial environment or in a cost clerk or accounts ledger role
• Experience in cost verification
• Ability to work independently and identify new efficiencies
• Proficiency with IT packages, especially Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organisation and time management skills

Desirable

• Construction industry experience
• Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a related field
• Experience working within a commercial environment
• Awareness of industry issues

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate accurate and timely labour accruals for period reporting
• Validate subcontract timesheets against work plans and signing-in records
• Assess subcontract applications for payment, validate against AFC, and issue payless notices if needed
• Approve summit requisitions and invoices
• Assist in raising subcontract requisitions
• Support the formation of subcontract final accounts
• Provide audit support as required
• Promote commercial awareness throughout Colas Rail Ltd
