Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Commercial Analytics Manager in London to shape analytical direction for the Commercial Finance team. You will build and maintain our BI infrastructure, drive key analytical projects, and improve data quality and tooling across the business.

This role blends commercial acumen with technical capability to influence the product and operations from data-driven insights.

Qualifications

  • Experience in SQL is essential; experience with Python is a plus.
  • Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills are required.
  • Excellent analytical ability and the ability to summarise quantitative concepts for broad audiences.
  • Knowledge of data visualization (Tableau preferred) is advantageous.
  • Professional experience in a high-performance culture is desirable.
  • Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lead interactions with senior stakeholders and to summarise quantitative concepts clearly.
  • Strong project management skills and change implementation experience.
  • Enjoys cross-functional collaboration across teams to achieve objectives.
  • Genuine interest in using data to solve business challenges and drive impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the scoping, building and management of the Commercial BI infrastructure to provide insightful analysis.
  • Develop and implement new approaches and processes across the finance team with automation/AI tooling.
  • Scope and lead strategic analytical projects to improve core product and profitability.
  • Deep-dive large datasets to extract insights for real-time decision-making.
  • Improve data quality and tooling across finance and other teams.
  • Promote a data-driven culture and validate adoption of analytical insights.
  • Present recommendations to Senior Management for approval.
  • Collaborate with non-finance teams across the business and with International geographies.
  • Upskill colleagues to improve technical capabilities and self-service of information.

About the job

We are looking for a Commercial Analytics Manager to join our ambitious and fast-growing Commercial Finance team in London - this is a unique role where commercial analytics meets technical know-how, with the opportunity to directly influence the whole business model! In this exciting role you will be supporting with setting the analytical direction for the team, building & maintaining our BI infrastructure, and driving key analytical projects. Within this you will be looking to improve data quality & tooling across teams, bringing our analytical capabilities to the next level. This will form the foundation from which you will produce insightful and actionable dashboards, datasets & analysis, which in turn will be used to underpin key decisions and recommendations, informing future developments and improvement of our product (the meal kits we send our customers every week!) & operations.

What you will be doing
  • In this hands on role you will be leading on the scoping, building and managing of our Commercial BI infrastructure, ensuring we are providing highly insightful and actionable analysis that leads to positive change
  • Use your technical skillset to identify, develop and implement new approaches and processes across the finance team, leveraging automation and AI tooling to simplify/optimise recurring processes
  • Ideating, scoping and leading key strategic analytical projects focused on driving improvements in our core product & further P&L profitability
  • Deep diving large, complex datasets from across the business in order to pull out key insights which will influence real-time decision-making
  • Focused on improving our data quality & tooling across both finance and other teams
  • Championing a strong data culture across the business, validating and influencing how teams adopt and act on analytical insights that directly drive the bottom line
  • Present and obtain approval on any recommendations from Senior Management
  • Collaborate closely with non-finance teams from across the business such as Culinary, Menu Planning, Analytics, Procurement, Operations and Marketing
  • Collaborate closely with International the company geographies ensuring synergies are found and leveraged
  • Upskilling those around you to improve their technical skills, improve self service of information and help implement best practice
Who you are
  • Someone who is naturally curious & a self-starter with the drive to make a change!
  • This role will have a broad remit across the whole P&L, so we want to meet people who can leverage their technical skillset to source data and scale existing processes and combine it with commercial acumen to then analyse and present the findings whilst steering the outcome.
  • Experience in SQL is essential; experience with Python a big plus
  • Very strong Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to summarise quantitative concepts into a digestible format that is easy to understand and communicate to all levels of the business
  • A strong working knowledge of data visualisation (Tableau preferred but not essential)
  • Professional experience in a high performance and culture environment
  • Ability to manage priorities simultaneously and meet time-sensitive deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lead interactions with senior stakeholders and to summarise quantitative concepts into a digestible format
  • Strong project management competencies - identify, design and implement change
  • Enjoys working cross-functionally, across teams and departments to achieve a joint objective
