Job Description:

Commercial Analyst - Global Procurement (m/f/x)

As the Commercial Analyst supporting the 3rd Party Manufacturing (3PM) team within Global Procurement, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.

Working within the 3rd Party Manufacturing team, you will create, support and implement category strategies to ensure the Procurement organization and 3M meet its cost savings, growth and working capital goals by leading negotiations, being part of effective NPI launches, and managing complex supplier relationships.

Here at 3M, you will make an impact by:

  • Providing spend analysis, opportunity analysis, supplier / market analysis, preparation of business cases and RFx analysis for the 3PM Procurement team and wider internal 3PM stakeholders.
  • Researching and analyzing procurement category related data from various sources (ERP, Supplier Intelligence, Market Intelligence, Indexes/Feedstocks, etc) to identify trends, performance, risks, opportunities, to aid with data-driven decision-making.
  • Leveraging data-driven insights to build should cost modeling, unlock structural saving opportunities, enhance decision-making, maximize saving delivery.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities / improvements within our existing contractual partnerships.
  • Supporting weekly/monthly Category reporting across its defined KPIs.
  • Supporting monthly Procurement Ops reviews, and exec presentations as needed.
  • Supporting category teams with complex commercial relationships that cover VMI (vendor managed inventory), consigned materials, formula-based pricing, etc.
  • Ad-hoc support for other procurement workstreams such as supplier reviews, tendering, supplier data segmentation, etc.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, or a related field, preferably from an accredited institution
  • Professional experience in a similar analytical role supporting Procurement/Finance/Commercial/Supply Chain teams in a private, public, government or military environment.
  • Fluent English language skills both written and verbal

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Strong financial acumen, mathematical and statistical knowledge with an ability to interpret complex data.
  • Strong IT skills, including Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills, SAP, PowerBi, PowerPoint etc.
  • Knowledge and experience leveraging AI tools to support data analytics.
  • Initiative, self-starter with a positive & pro-active approach
  • Strong communication skills including ability to create clear data visualizations.

Job Specifics

  • Work location: This role has an on-site working model, with the employee working at least four days per week at a 3M office in either Bracknell, UK, Neuss, Germany or Wroclaw, Poland
