About the opportunity:

We are the internal recruitment partner for our client, a well-established independent, family-owned enterprise that has been a cornerstone of the UK's food-service distribution sector for five decades.

We are presenting an exciting opportunity for a highly meticulous Commercial Analyst to join the dedicated Commercial team. This pivotal role will provide data-driven insight that shapes financial decision making.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and customise sales and margin reports using Cosmos and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
  • Analyse customer and product profitability, identifying gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Agree and monitor customer-specific pricing outside standard models.
  • Review competitor pricing and support commercial teams with pricing decisions.
  • Set sales targets, monitor internal sales performance, and calculate bonuses.
  • Support budget preparation and identify growth opportunities through data insights.
  • Report on promotional performance and help shape future campaigns.
  • Produce KPIs and reporting to support resource and operational decisions


Requirements


  • Proven experience in a data-analysis or commercial-analysis role
  • Advanced Excel skills and a data analysis software, ideally Cosmos or Power BI.
  • A strong numerical, logical mindset and the ability to translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proven experience of business partnering
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Graduate-calibre education in finance, maths, business, economics or a related field.
  • Commercial acumen, meticulous attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to regional depots.


Benefits

  • A salary of circa £30,000 dependent on knowledge and experience
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 - 17:00
