Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a Commercial or Data Analyst role in a regulated environment required.
  • Proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools essential.
  • Strong communicator with ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Role overview

We are seeking a commercially focused and analytically skilled individual to join our Multicar team at Hastings Direct. As a Commercial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting strategic initiatives through data-driven insights, helping to shape and optimise our multicar proposition.

While this is only a 12-month FTC to cover maternity leave, with how the company growing, there is a high potential for this to grow into a permanent role.

Job details

  • While the day to day responsibilities of the role will be both varied and dynamic, we have managed to subcategorise the main responsibilities into five key areas:
  • Opportunity Identification & Initiative Delivery: Proactively identify opportunities within the data, propose new initiatives, and work cross-functionally to see them through to successful delivery
  • Collaborative Analysis: Work as an integral part of the Multicar team, delivering analysis to support key commercial initiatives and strategic decision-making
  • Data Integration & Insight Generation: Bring together data from disparate sources, join and analyse it to uncover actionable insights that drive business performance
  • Stakeholder Communication: Present analysis confidently to stakeholders using verbal, written, and visual communication methods, including dashboards and presentations
  • Performance Evaluation: Analyse the outcomes of commercial initiatives, identify trends, and recommend improvements to enhance effectiveness and efficiency

Essential skills/experience:

  • We are looking for someone who has prior experience in a Commercial or Data Analyst position. This will be in a highly regulated environment such as insurance or the financial services more generally.
  • As a result, you will have also developed good skills in analytics and problem solving with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • What also goes hand in hand with the analytical skills is a proficiency in data tools such as SQL and visualisation platforms such as Power BI.
  • Of course the technical aspects are important, but we are also looking for a good communicator, with the ability to explain concept to non-technical stakeholders.
  • You will also be able to take a proactive mindset, with a continuous improvement approach.
