Job Description

  • Oversee the preparation and review of financial reports and statements, variance analysis and management accounts
  • Support and perform audits to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Develop and implement effective financial strategies
  • Lead budgeting, financial training and financial planning processes, ensuring that non-financial stakeholders understand financial decision-making
  • Collaborate with other departments to streamline financial operations
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense management activities
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to the management team
  • Provide commercial and financial insights and analysis to senior management, developing strong relationships with operational teams
  • Line manage a small team, supporting their continuous development
  • Report into the Head of Finance and deputise when needed
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial information
  • Maintain and update financial records in accordance with company policies

The Successful Applicant

A successful Commercial Accountant should have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proficiency in financial software and MS Office
  • Understanding of statutory reporting requirements
  • Self-motivated and the ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and procedures
