Job description

Robert Half Finance and Accounting are recruiting for a Commercial Accountant to work for a Media business based in London for 3 months.

Responsibilities:

Commercial Partnering
  • Work with the client teams on all job/billing matters and collaborating with WIP manager to action.
  • Partner with team to ensure ambitious, but realistic revenue forecasting, coupled with accurate associated resource planning.
  • Management of net working capital across your portfolio of clients.
  • Ensure regular catch-up with the client project managers to understand the latest scopes, staffing, capacity planning and job progress on clients.
  • Review of scopes and providing approval from a margin perspective.
  • Working closely with Project Managers to ensure jobs are accurately reconciled on a timely basis.
  • Liaise with client leads on day-to-day client procurement.
  • Help client leads build a margin improvement plan and monitor progress against it.
  • Attending meetings with client leads to finalise monthly revenue and documentation in accordance with IFRS15 requirements, including preparation of revenue minutes.
  • Updating the revenue tracker and ensuring it is kept up to date and matches to Maconomy reporting each month-end.
  • Update the rolling and quarterly forecast trackers, as well as associated reporting requirements.
  • Prepare revenue accrual or deferral journals in a timely manner for month-end reporting.
  • Providing monthly commentary for aged Accrued Revenue and aged Deferred Income balances.
  • Ensuring timely reporting in adherence with internal timetables.
Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with ICFR regulations in relevant areas, particularly revenue recognition.
  • Assist in any ICFR, Internal and External audits, including client audits.
  • Understand client contracts and ensure all are aware of and adhere to key contractual points.
  • Preparation and maintenance of IFRS15 assessment and contract summaries for client portfolio.
