Job description

Hutcheon Mearns Finance are delighted to be supporting our Renewablesclient in their search for a new Commercial Accountant, to be based in Alloa. This is a very exciting & rare opportunity to join an industry leader in the UK marketplace, playing a pivotal role in financial planning and analysis while supporting strategic decision-making across the business. This role would be well-suited to candidates from a commercial and/or business partnering background where you have played an integral part in providing insights and value-add to key stakeholders.

About our Client:

A renewable energy stalwart across the UK marketplace, our client is engaged on several high profile projects ranging from single wind turbine sites to utility scale commercial wind farms. An incredibly talented team with substantial experience within the renewable energy sector, our client has the technical, management and financial skills to successfully bring complex projects to fruition.

About the Role:

  • Driving financial planning & analysis outputs, including budget setting, actuals to budgets, forecasts, KPIs and financial modelling
  • Working with operational managers, development managers and the head of development to control and manage budgets
  • Commercial input and involvement in new business ventures
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with budget holders and business leaders
  • Providing financial and commercial insight on business decisions and process improvements
  • Assisting in financial modelling to include new projects, acquisitions and existing sites
  • Assisting in corporate activities, such as acquisitions, restructuring and setting up new legal entities
  • Assisting in vendor contract management, including tendering exercises and due diligence work.

About You:

  • Qualified Accountant (ICAS/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
  • Candidates close to qualification or Qualified by Experience (QBE) will also be considered
  • Experience in the energy or construction sector ideal but not essential
  • Experience working in commercial finance, business partnering with key stakeholders & budget holders
  • Proven experience in financial planning & analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Strong financial modelling skills, including scenario analysis
