Commercial Account Handler/Executive – £35,000 - £40,000 | Peterborough | Permanent

We’re working with a well-established independent insurance broker in Peterborough who are looking for a knowledgeable and motivated Commercial Account Handler/Executive to take ownership of a portfolio of SME to mid-sized clients across a variety of sectors.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone confident in renewals, re-broking, and servicing, with the chance to strengthen existing client relationships and contribute to new business growth through referrals — without the need for cold calling.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of commercial clients, handling renewals, MTAs, and day-to-day queries
  • Re-market policies and negotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms and coverage
  • Advise clients on appropriate cover across a variety of commercial lines, including property, liability, motor, and packages
  • Ensure all client documentation is accurate, compliant, and delivered to a high standard
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with both clients and underwriters

  • Proven experience as a Commercial Account Handler or Executive in the insurance sector
  • Strong technical knowledge across a range of commercial insurance products
  • Confident communicator with excellent client relationship skills
  • Skilled negotiator with insurers to deliver the best outcomes
  • Organised, professional, and committed to delivering excellent service
  • Cert CII qualified or working towards (desirable but not essential)
