Commercial Gas Engineer

Location: Mobile (South Wales to Exeter, Plymouth & surrounding areas)

Salary: Competitive + Benefits

Hours: 42.5 hours per week

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

At NPP, we’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected company that specialises in critical infrastructure, process, and digital services. They have secured long-term contracts across various sectors, including food & drink, utilities, and high-security industries such as defence, aerospace, and nuclear.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking team working on a prestigious prison contract, carrying out installations, maintenance, and repairs to ensure safety and efficiency at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on commercial gas systems
2. Diagnose faults and provide effective solutions to minimise downtime
3. Ensure compliance with all industry regulations and safety standards
4. Complete small installation works as required
5. Maintain detailed records of all work completed
6. Work closely with a team of engineers and liaise with sub-contractors when necessary
7. Participate in an out-of-hours call-out rota for emergency repairs
8. Escalate any urgent issues to the Supervisor or Contract Manager

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in commercial gas maintenance and repairs
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Ability to use SMART devices and complete electronic documentation
• Full UK driving license (essential)
• Commercial Gas qualifications (essential)
• Previous experience in a similar role working on planned and reactive maintenance
