Location: Hareleeshill Primary School, Myrtle Lane, Larkhall, ML9 2RQ

Hours: 35 hours per week on a term-time basis.

Work Pattern: Monday - Friday 7.30am - 3pm.

Community and Enterprise Resources seek to recruit a Cook-in-Charge to ensure the efficient operation and management of a quality catering service within a premise and to supervise a team of Facilities Assistants (catering).

Your responsibilities will include the allocation of duties, work rotas, basic routine training, and maximizing attendance. You will also carry out clerical and financial duties related to the catering function. You will be responsible for preparing meals, ordering goods, conducting quality audits, and ensuring compliance with Environmental Health standards and food safety systems.

Effective communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and prioritize your workload. You should be a committed team player with previous experience in providing customer-oriented service.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a team of Facility Assistants (Catering), including training, recruitment & selection, maximizing attendance, and team briefings.
  • Ensuring the provision of a quality service and advising management on stock or quality control issues.
  • Handling cash counting, balancing, and recording financial transactions (CDCH3).
  • Preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of menu items.
  • Managing function work and transferring food items within and outside the kitchen for serving.
  • Performing practical tasks related to the storage, preparation, cooking, and service of food, including cleaning of floors, walls, production areas, equipment, and utensils.
