Your profile
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering. Master’s or Doctorate degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Understanding of combustion fundamentals related to either power generation or aerospace applications.
  • Experience with experimental techniques and emissions measurement.
  • Experience of CFD modelling (StarCCM), acoustic modelling (COMSOL) is beneficial.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, able to work on own initiative and be proactive.
  • Experience with design and testing in rotating machinery or equivalent.
  • Working towards Chartered Membership of an engineering institution is advantageous.
Your responsibilities

You will be part of the R&D team designing combustion systems for the Siemens Energy SGT product range. Your work will focus on R&D and technological improvements, supporting sales, production, and fleet activities. The role encompasses all aspects of engineering projects including conceptual work, detailed design, numerical modelling, high-pressure rig testing, and engine testing. Our goal is to minimize the environmental impact of gas turbine operation by innovating in product development, reducing emissions, and expanding fuel flexibility, especially towards low-carbon fuels.
