Job summary

Black Kite Studios is seeking a Colour Assistant to support delivering exceptional Colour work on projects. You will help with quality control, prep sessions and learn the Colourist workflow to progress in your career.

Collaborating with Producers and Creatives, you will transcode rushes, prepare conforms, set up grading scenes, and ensure smooth client-facing sessions, helping the team create outstanding colour work.

Qualifications

• Colour understanding and a keen eye for grade detail.
• Willingness to learn and progress towards Colourist role.
• Ability to work with Producers and Creatives to apply the best colour workflow.

Responsibilities

• Quality control on all deliverable Colour media.
• Liaise with external parties around media supply and ingest for Colour sessions.
• Work with Producers and Creatives to ensure best colour workflow on projects.
• Provide colour session prep support for Colourists.
• Transcode rushes and prepare conforms from EDLs and offline edits using Resolve / Baselight Conform / Flame assist / Adobe Premiere.
• Set up grade scenes on Baselight with edits and reframes.
• Manage and schedule grade pickups and run-throughs using CETA.
• Prepare grading suite environment for Colourists and clients.
• Prepare and QC check export media for network/online or external delivery.
• Produce efficient render workflows.
• Support Black Kite Creative and Production talent.
• Ensure client experience at Black Kite Studios is on point.
• Work on Colour grading projects to enable personal development.
• Help produce outstanding colour work.
