POSITION SUMMARY
We are recruiting for a Packaging Retoucher to join our team in Witham. The Colour & Retouching Operator modifies and packages imagery for print assignments to incorporate into the final layout for assembly. Under the direction of the client project team, this role performs colour manipulations, retouching, photo composition, colour proofs, and printer-specific colour corrections or modifications for packaging or digital (pre-media) layouts per project technical specifications.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create colour-accurate print-ready images, matching supplied client targets.
- Evaluate colour and technically adapt for correct print requirements.
- Consult with team and attend project meetings to evaluate individual project needs.
- Make recommendations and/or changes to files prepared for correct output.
- Print proofs on all available proofing devices.
- Perform quality checks on proofs, including measuring colour.
- Create ink recipes to match supplied colour targets provided by clients or printers. This may involve creating a recipe, producing a proof, measuring results, and adjusting until the target colour is met.
- Assemble high-quality proof presentations for clients.
- Review the quality of the final product before release to the client.
- Ensure high-quality standards in all production client deliverables, including accurate, consistent, and timely completion of projects according to budget and specifications.
- Use industry-standard software, tools, and techniques such as photo composition, colour manipulation, retouching, and scanning.
- Keep the client project team updated on the status of the assigned project.
- Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts, Photography, or related field
- Colour and retouching experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as internal and external clients.
- Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to influence peers and management.
- Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines, and reporting.
