Job summary

Randstad Student & Worker Support is seeking a proactive Student Support Advisor to act as a first point of contact for learners, offering confidential, non-academic guidance and welfare support.

You will collaborate with college and university colleagues to develop an inclusive wellbeing model, maintain records, deliver sessions, and manage caseloads while staying within professional boundaries.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a HE/FE student-facing environment and understanding of student welfare and support issues.
  • Excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills to build rapport while maintaining boundaries.
  • Highly organised, flexible, able to work under pressure with creative problem solving.
  • Level 3 qualification (such as A levels) or equivalent non-UK/professional experience.

About the Role:

In this vital role, you will be a first point of contact, providing essential advice and ensuring a holistic approach to student support. About You
  • Essential: You have experience working in a Higher Education (HE) or Further Education (FE) student-facing environment and deeply understand student welfare and support issues.
  • Essential: You possess excellent oral, listening, and written communication skills, enabling you to build quick rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Essential: You are highly organised, flexible, and can comfortably work under pressure while using creative problem-solving skills.
  • Essential: You hold a Level 3 qualification (such as A levels) or possess equivalent non-UK/professional experience.
  • Desirable: Experience in the management of student-staff is a plus.
