Gonville & Caius College in Cambridge is seeking a College Relief Night Porter. This role involves ensuring the security and safety of College buildings and engaging with the community. Candidates should be flexible with hours, as the position is on an ad hoc basis, primarily during night shifts.
College Relief Night Porter
The Role
Gonville & Caius College is looking for a College Relief Night Porterto join its friendly team of Porters, who collectively are responsible for the security and safety of the College buildings and its occupants throughout the 24-hour day. Critically Porters are the principal interface with Fellows, staff, students, conference delegates and visitors to the College and assume a key front-of-house role. The duties of the role are principally based at either the Old Courts in the centre of Cambridge, or Harvey Court on West Road but may be undertaken across any of the College’s sites within Cambridge.
The post is on an ad hoc basis to cover sickness and holidays on night shifts. You must be available at short notice as and when required, and therefore the ability and willingness to adopt a flexible approach to working hours is expected.
(Working hours are 22:05 – 08:05).
The salary for this position is £16.15 per hour. A uniform and a meal/meal allowance are provided whilst on duty.
