Job summary

Reed Further Education in London is recruiting a Band 6 College Nurse to support students aged 16+ with learning disabilities and autism in a specialist education setting. This locum role offers varied clinical nursing duties within a multidisciplinary team.

You will lead on healthcare planning, medication management, and contribute to EHCPs and reviews, while promoting independence and safe practice. DBS checks and two years' referencing apply; NMC registration required for ongoing compliance.

Qualifications

Degree or Graduate Diploma in Nursing.
Current NMC Registration.
Experience working with young people or adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
Knowledge of person-centred practice and multidisciplinary working.
Experience contributing to EHCPs and outcome-focused planning.

Responsibilities

Leading on healthcare planning and medication management.
Undertaking nursing assessments and delivering appropriate interventions.
Responding to medical emergencies and supporting students with complex health needs.
Contributing to EHCP reviews, reports and multidisciplinary meetings.
Working collaboratively with families, education staff and external agencies.
Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with NMC standards.
Promoting independence, choice and positive outcomes for learners.
Supporting safeguarding, health and safety, and clinical governance processes.
