Job summary

TeacherActive is working with a mainstream college in the heart of Derby. We are seeking a BTEC lecturer to cover temporary contracts teaching Hair and Beauty, AS/A Level subjects, GCSE English/Maths, Functional Skills, Computer Science, and Plumbing to students aged 16–19.

The position requires QTS, PGCE or DTTLS and a DBS with update service. You will support tutors across practical courses and benefit from market-leading pay and dedicated consultant support.

Qualifications

• QTS, PGCE or DTTLS and experience in a further educational environment.
• DBS and update service.
• Experience supporting College tutors in a wide range of practical courses.
• A strong knowledge and understanding of a key subject at various levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach A Levels, GCSE Resits, BTEC, national diplomas and NVQs.
• Support college tutors in a wide range of practical courses.
• Engage and motivate learners aged 16–19 in a Further Education setting.
• Deliver engaging and motivating lessons across listed subjects.

As a Teacher or Lecturer in Further Education you will be mainly supporting young adults between 16-19 years old, teaching A Levels, GCSE Resits, BTECH, national diplomas and NVQ’s. The college is looking for a supportive and motivated BTEC lecturer on a temporary contract in one or more of the following subjects

• Hair and Beauty
• Teacher of AS/A Level subjects
• Teacher for GCSE English/Maths
• Functional Skills Teacher
• Lecturer Computer Science
• Lecturer of Plumbing

The successful candidate will have :

• QTS, PGCE or DTTLS and experience in a further educational environment however great industry experience can be vital
• DBS and on update service
• Experience supporting College tutors in a wide range of practical courses
• A strong knowledge and understanding of a key subject at various levels
