Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Collections Specialist to join a long-standing and successful company based in Redditch. This is a growing company that offers fantastic support and training programmes to ensure you will be successful in this position. The company has professional offices with free parking and, due to continued growth, they are looking for ambitious candidates who are seeking a long-term career. They will offer you the training and personal development in return for your hard work.


This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm. This is a commercial collections role dealing directly with retrieving debt from businesses, so previous B2B experience in collections or customer services would be a distinct advantage. I am looking for someone with a strong Customer Service or Collections background who is very confident and assertive on the phone for this role.


Collections Specialist day-to-day duties will include the following:
  1. Contacting debtors via phone, email, and letters
  2. Implementing strategies to pull back debt as quickly as possible for the client
  3. Using strong questioning and negotiation techniques to achieve your objective
  4. Using credit information obtained from both the debtor and client to formulate an effective collections strategy
  5. Effectively overcoming reasons for non-payment
  6. Establishing 'Can't Pay / Won't Pay' situations and developing an effective collection strategy
  7. Remaining compliant with industry regulations at all times
  8. Providing high levels of customer service at all times to all customers
  9. Updating the database with high levels of accuracy

Requirements:
  1. Previous Customer Service experience
  2. Previous Debt Recovery or Collections experience
  3. Be confident and strong on the phone whilst remaining friendly and personable
  4. Strong negotiation skills; may be an ex-sales person who doesn't want to sell but wants to find solutions for customers
