We are seeking a diligent Collections & Recoveries Specialist to help us maximize collections returns by understanding the customer's circumstances and ensuring that all actions achieve the best outcome for iwoca and our clients.

Your mission

We are seeking an experienced Collections & Debt Recovery Specialist to work within a fast-paced, customer-focused environment, providing excellent customer service while maintaining the team's high standards.

  • Handle a high volume portfolio of customer accounts in arrears, managing cases with varying and unique circumstances.
  • Handle inbound and initiate outbound calls, letters, and emails with care, accuracy, and professionalism.
  • Build relationships with customers through regular contact to understand and resolve breaches of agreements.
  • Negotiate, implement, and monitor feasible repayment solutions considering customer circumstances and business interests.
  • Collaborate with various teams to strategize and implement appropriate recovery actions.
  • Work closely with Collections Management and the Head of Collections to review and develop recovery strategies.
  • Coordinate with third parties such as debt collection agencies and Paralegals to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulatory guidelines.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain iwoca's reputation at all times.
  • Update databases and systems to keep accurate records of activities and outcomes.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of debt recovery experience, preferably in the commercial/business sector.
  • Empathy, patience, and professionalism.
  • Strong communication skills, accuracy, and confidence.
  • The ability to handle challenges, innovate, and think quickly.
  • Business acumen, entrepreneurial spirit, and enthusiasm for helping SMEs. Experience in finance is advantageous.
