Joining Eurofins logistics team, this role will be working out of the Feltham site to make collections of food/water samples from customers around the UK, returning them to the laboratory.

Please note this is a full time permanent role working 45 hours per week - Monday to Friday 14:00 - 23:30.

  • Make collections of ambient and chilled food and water samples from customers' premises throughout the UK to a pre-planned regional route in a timely manner by using a company vehicle with internal chilled units in accordance with company procedures and service levels.
  • Make collections of testing kits from hospitals around the UK, returning them to the laboratory.
  • The driver is responsible for the safe and appropriate handling of the customer’s samples to ensure they are stowed appropriately within the vehicle.
  • Respond positively to route changes that the company feels reasonable for the driver to complete.
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed with a high degree of accuracy, including recording temperature and time records on a daily record sheet and reporting into the Logistics Management team.
  • Ensure all information is inputted onto the company tablet where required.
  • Keep collection storage rooms clean and tidy at all times.
  • Clean fridges and spillages where required.
  • Ensure bottle stocks are sufficient within the drop-offs.
  • Replace and report on faulty probes within fridge units at drop-offs.
  • Ensure collections are returned to site safely and securely.
  • Communicate regularly with the other driver about delays to meeting times or places.
  • The vehicle is to be parked overnight at the normal place of work unless previously agreed otherwise with the management team.
  • Conduct daily and weekly vehicle checks (oil, water, etc.) and report any defects promptly to the logistics manager.
  • Report accidents and breakdowns.
  • Ensure the vehicle is locked and secure when unattended.
  • Maintain a professional appearance by wearing a clean, neat uniform and keeping the vehicle in a clean, tidy, and serviceable condition.
  • Provide high levels of internal and external customer care.
  • Participate in developmental training as required in line with company standards.
  • Drive company vehicles safely and courteously, complying with the Department of Transport and Highway Code regulations.
  • Take all reasonable actions to ensure the safety and security of vehicles, equipment, goods, colleagues, and other road users.
