Job summary

The British Library is seeking a Collection Metadata Analyst in Boston Spa. The role focuses on developing and implementing bibliographic standards to describe the collection, enable discovery, and disseminate catalog records globally. You will work with international standards and transform metadata to meet user needs.

Strong knowledge of RDA, MARC 21, and experience with HTML, XML or XSLT is essential. Attention to detail and timely delivery are key in this role.

• Proven technical skills and experience working with metadata for bibliographic or archival resources.
• Knowledge of RDA and MARC 21.
• Experience with HTML, XML or XSLT. In-depth analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development and implementation of bibliographic standards.
• Describe collection items to enable discovery and disseminate catalogue records globally.
• Collaborate with international partners on standards development and metadata transformation.
