Job summary

Protocol Education is supporting a welcoming school in Barnsley to recruit a Teaching Assistant who can bring energy, care and support to their classrooms. This is a full-time, long-term role starting September 2026.

You will assist teachers with delivering engaging lessons, help pupils develop confidence and skills across the curriculum, and collaborate with SEN staff to meet the needs of all learners. Weekly PAYE pay and training are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in schools or similar settings.
• Reliability, patience and approachability are valued.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication are important.
• Enthusiasm for supporting children's learning and wellbeing.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in delivering creative and engaging lessons.
• Help children develop confidence, skills and knowledge across the curriculum.
• Assist with classroom management and behaviour support.
• Work alongside SEN staff to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Support school routines and administrative tasks related to the classroom.
