Job description

Here at the University of Bolton, we are proud of our growing reputation as a student focused University. We are looking for a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to join the Student Services & Experience Directorate to deliver CBT to students accessing the University Student Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, the Life Lounge.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  1. Provide a qualified, evidence-based and high-quality CBT service to students.
  2. Formulate and implement clinical plans for the formal CBT treatment of students’ issues based on an appropriate conceptual framework employing methods grounded in evidence.
  3. Communicate in a skilled and sensitive manner information concerning the assessment, formulation and treatment plan for students and monitor their progress.
  4. Provide functional supervision and oversee the day-to-day management of trainee CBT therapists working in the Life Lounge on placement.
  5. Share information as appropriate regarding students accessing the service who present at risk (risk to self or others).
  6. Support the university in enhancing student mental health and wellbeing through projects.
  7. Attend multi-disciplinary meetings to support managing risk.
  8. Fulfil the role of Senior Designated Safeguarding Champion, for which full training will be provided.
