Cognitive Behavioural Practitioner / Behaviour Change Intervention Specialist with experience of delivering cognitive / dialectical behavioural therapy (CBT & DBT) and working both face to face and remotely with perpetrators of domestic abuse and/or stalking is required for a well-established organisation.

SALARY: £30,240 pro rata + Benefits

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract until end of March 2026

WORKING HOURS: 37 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday, including 1 evening delivery

LOCATION: Hybrid working with both site-based and remote work covering the Kent Region

PLEASE NOTE: There may be a requirement to deliver within prison establishments.

Job Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Cognitive Behavioural Practitioner / Behaviour Change Intervention Specialist with experience in delivering CBT & DBT, working face to face and remotely with perpetrators of domestic abuse and stalking.

As the Practitioner, you will assess, coordinate, and deliver interventions to individuals demonstrating domestic abuse and/or stalking behaviors, on a 1:1 and/or group basis.

The role involves travel around the county to settings including Police Stations, Probation offices, Prisons, and company premises. You will work with adults and young people (aged 14+) using models of behaviour change to address and modify abusive behaviors and obsessive thinking.

Duties
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, including case files.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to develop a multi-agency approach to risk assessment, management, and rehabilitation.
  • Participate in supervision and appraisal processes.
  • Contribute to reports, reviews, and evaluations.
  • Assess and induct new clients, developing engagement plans.
  • Work one evening per week, with additional hours as required.
  • Keep detailed records of attendance, engagement, and behavioral issues.
  • Maintain up-to-date risk information and contribute to relevant meetings.
  • Perform administrative tasks appropriately.
  • Work with volunteers and staff to ensure effective collaboration.
  • Coordinate with Forensic Psychologists to assess and manage risks.
Candidate Requirements
  • Experience delivering cognitive behavioural therapy.
  • Experience working with diverse populations.
  • Ability to build constructive relationships.
  • Experience working towards outcomes in a multi-agency context.
  • Experience delivering group work.
  • Experience working with domestic abuse perpetrators/challenging individuals.
  • Caseload management experience.
  • Risk management experience.
  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above (or equivalent), including English.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to deliver intensive therapeutic interventions remotely and face-to-face.
  • Ability to manage disruptive and aggressive behaviors.
  • IT literacy.
Desirable
  • Probation Officer qualification or equivalent in Counselling/Psychology.
  • Knowledge of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.
  • Experience with social factors affecting domestic abuse risks.
  • Experience contributing to MASH & MAPPA processes.
  • Therapeutic intervention experience.
  • Experience handling aggressive and challenging behavior.

This role requires an Enhanced DBS check (adult and child) and prison vetting. All checks will be part of pre-employment processes.
