Job description

Are you an experienced Coffee Shop Assistant, brasserie or restaurant staff member seeking an opportunity to work in a coffee shop in the most iconic retail space in London?

Stellar Global is recruiting for a Coffee Shop Assistant at Samsung KX, located in our flagship store in the heart of King’s Cross, London. This is a permanent, part-time role (22.5 hours per week, 3 days), involving working on weekdays and weekends on a rotational basis around the store’s opening hours.

Samsung KX was launched in collaboration with Stellar Global in 2019. It is their flagship European brand experience space, managed and developed by Stellar. Designed to offer guests an immersive brand experience, it features workshops, events, performances, and community partnerships to engage and educate visitors.

The overall purpose of the role:

The Café Assistant is responsible for the efficient operation of the café, overseen by the Events Production Manager/Cluster Manager. You will assist with all aspects of the cafe's operations, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and quality, managing inventory, and supporting revenue opportunities, including catering for events. The Café Assistant reports directly to the Events Production Manager/Cluster Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operational support, including opening and closing procedures, stock checks, etc.
  • Providing excellent customer service to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Proposing ideas and seeking new opportunities to increase revenue and footfall to KX and the Cafe.
  • Monitoring sales performance, expenses, and profitability through POS management.
  • Coordinating events and assisting with catering, including setup, orders, and deliveries.

Role Requirements:

  • This role is based in London, at Samsung KX, King's Cross area.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, mornings, and evenings, as required.
  • Previous experience in café or hospitality environments, preferably similar.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and financial analysis.
  • Relevant certifications such as Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or higher) and optional First Aid Certification.
