Job Description:

KPMG’s UK Deal Advisory team is recruiting ambitious, innovative, and high-performing individuals at all levels to accelerate the growth of its recently launched Turnaround Team.

KPMG’s Turnaround Team offers an exciting opportunity to work within dynamic, flexible, fast-moving environments and is the first line of response to opportunities arising from operational underperformance and/or financial pressure.

We have recently invested significantly in this team, including several experienced partners/directors, and are actively recruiting staff to help accelerate this exciting growth initiative. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all colleagues thrive and reach their full potential, regardless of their identity or background. This is fundamental to our success as a business.

The Turnaround Team is intentionally building a diverse, high-performance team, seeking applicants with a range of experience gained across multiple industry sectors and business functions.

Operating nationally, the Turnaround Team is embedded within the rapidly growing Deal Advisory business as part of the Corporate Finance team. Our multi-capability group delivers a broad spectrum of corporate advisory work, serving regional and large corporate clients across the UK. This allows us to provide bespoke, solutions-led approaches to help companies preserve value and achieve sustainable growth.

We proactively support businesses through the economic cycle, combining our specialist expertise with the depth and breadth of functional and sector capabilities at KPMG. Our services include:

  • Stakeholder stabilization and management
  • Liquidity management
  • Business plan assessment and analysis
  • Option identification and assessment
  • Business disposals or managed exits
  • Cost reduction and performance improvement
  • Economic profitability assessments
  • Development of turnaround plans
  • Implementation support

The ideal attributes of an Associate Director within the Turnaround Team include:

  • An analytical mindset with strong commercial acumen
  • Leadership and communication skills to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience leading multi-stream advisory projects
  • Existing professional network across corporates, lenders, and private equity
  • Creativity and willingness to explore new approaches
  • Team management, coaching, and mentoring skills

Candidates may have backgrounds in professional services, consulting, finance, or operations, with success in turnaround, restructuring, or related fields. Sector expertise in industries like consumer, industrials, healthcare, TMT, business services, energy, or resources is beneficial but not essential. Experience in fast-moving environments facing financial or operational challenges is also advantageous.
