Job summary

National Gas is seeking a skilled Welder to join the fabrication team in Ambergate. You will deliver coded welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and pressure-containing pipework, supporting workshop and site-based projects across the UK.

You should have time-served welding qualifications, experience with WPSs and drawings, and a strong commitment to safety and quality. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

Proven experience undertaking coded welding in fabrication, construction, utilities, energy or industrial environments.
Experience welding pressure-containing pipework systems to approved WPSs.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, isometrics and welding symbols.
Strong focus on safety, quality, and inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

Deliver coded welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and pressure-containing pipework as per WPS/drawings.
Prepare joints, materials and components for high-quality welds meeting inspection requirements.
Support workshop and site-based fabrication, tack welding, repairs and tie-ins across the UK.
Verify welds visually and maintain welding quality records.
