Job summary

Contechs is recruiting on behalf of a Luxury Automotive OEM based in Gaydon for a Cockpit Test & Development Lead Engineer on a rolling contract basis, working 40 hours per week. The role sits inside IR35 and focuses on coordinating development, testing and verification of cockpit systems.

The successful candidate will manage test plans, ensure standards are met, set up test programmes for multiple cockpit projects and handle BOMs, quotes and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate development, testing and verification of new cockpit systems and components.
• Set up and manage test plans progression through to sign-off using Client systems.
• Ensure compliance with design maturation standards across programmes.
• Create and update BOMs for test parts and obtain supplier quotes.
• Prepare parts for testing, evaluate results, and document findings in reports.

Job Description

• The purpose of this role is to coordinate the development, testing and verification of new systems and components or commodities into the Cockpit system.
• The role requires the individual to use the Client's systems to set up and manage the test plan progression through to sign-off.
• Checking all appropriate Client standards are met through-out design maturation
• Setting up the test and development plan for several new cockpit programmes
• Managing RMDV (the Clients' management tracking system) deck for respective programmes, setting and cascading targets to relevant areas.
• New system on XRAY & TRM in process of being rolled out.
• Creating and updating Bill of Materials for test parts
• Obtaining quotes from suppliers and test houses to complete plan and liaising with value for money team to gain approval.
• Preparing parts for testing, evaluating results, resolving any problems arising, writing reports and filing back to RMDV.
