Coatings Laboratory Technician

CK Group is recruiting for a Coatings Laboratory Technician to join a global materials manufacturing company near Wigan on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Company:

Our client is a global leader in manufacturing glass for architectural, automotive, and technical sectors. They focus on high-performance glass and glazing solutions. The role offers a salary between £24,000 and £32,000, depending on experience.

Location:

The position is based near Wigan, easily accessible from Merseyside, Liverpool, Ormskirk, Skelmersdale, and Manchester. A full UK driving license and car are required.

Role Responsibilities:

• Develop new coated products and processes.
• Investigate coatings applied via spray coating, sputter coating, and Chemical Vapour Deposition (CVD).
• Operate and maintain lab coating and testing equipment.
• Conduct durability tests and prepare samples.
• Measure physical properties of coated glass.

Candidate Requirements:

• Educated to BTEC/HNC or apprenticeship level (preferred over degree).
• Experience in a laboratory setting is essential.
• Full UK driving license and access to a car are essential.
