Job summary

First Bus Leeds – Hunslet Park depot is seeking a qualified Coachbuilder for a nightshift role, working on large vehicles with interior and exterior bodywork. PSV/HGV experience is valued, but candidates with light bodywork or accident repair background are encouraged.

A Level 3 NVQ and a valid UK licence are essential. The role involves accident repairs, panel work, seating and flooring repairs, paint touch-ups and documenting repairs for insurance claims.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) with coachbuilding/body repair experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred but not essential.
• Welding experience required.
• Experience in vehicle accident repair and painting.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct accident bodywork repairs and diagnose faults.
• Perform collision and vandalism repairs, including windows and panels.
• Interior repairs on seating, flooring and door systems.
• Paint preparation and minor bodywork touch-ups.
• Address routine inspection findings and defect cards.
• Document repairs for third‑party insurance claims.

Position: Coachbuilder - Nightshift

Location: Leeds - Hunslet Park Depot, Donisthorpe Street LS10 1PL

We are now looking for a qualified Coachbuilder to join the busy team at our First Bus Leeds - Hunslet Park on a nightshift basis – PSV or HGV bodywork experience is great however we love to hear from candidates with any light vehicle bodywork or accident repair experience who are looking to build on their skill base and work on some larger vehicles - interior and exterior!

Key Details

• £21.70 per hour
• £42,315 annual salary
• Overtime paid at time and a half
• 37.5 hours per week Monday-Friday
• 10pm-6am Monday-Thursday
• 8pm-2:30am Fridays

Key Responsibilities

• Conducting accident bodywork repairs and diagnosing any faults
• Performing collision and vandalism repairs, including windows, panel and fibreglass work
• Interior repairs on seating and flooring and air operated door systems
• Paint preparation and any minor bodywork paint repairs and touch ups
• Addressing routine inspection findings and defect cards
• Documenting repairs for third-party insurance claims

What We're Looking For

• Do you have a minimum Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent), with proven coachbuilding/body repair work experience?
• Supervisory experience would be beneficial to assist in managing the Nightshift Coachbuilder team, however not essential
• Do you have welding experience?
• Have you working experience in vehicle accident repair and painting?
• Do you have a valid UK driving license?
