Job summary

Macclesfield College is seeking a dedicated Coach/Mentor in Plumbing to coach and mentor learners on Plumbing Apprenticeships. You will support learners in classes and in the workplace, helping them build evidence for End Point Assessment and ensuring safety and progression throughout the apprenticeship.

You will collaborate with teaching staff, complete reviews with learners and employers, and promote training to employers to grow our apprenticeship provision.

Responsibilities

• Support apprentices using an appropriate range of methods to facilitate and support learning and achievement.
• Complete sign up and review fulfilling all audit requirements.
• Identify individual training needs and to organize training to achieve planned outcomes within defined timescales in line with College processes and procedures.
• Motivate and inspire employees to raise aspirations, promote effort, maintain momentum and encourage progression to higher levels.
• Make good use of Information and Communications Technology, including e-learning and e-assessment.
• Possess good knowledge and awareness of health and safety within the sector and competence in conducting workplace risk assessments.

The Role

• To coach and mentor a range of learners who are studying Plumbing Apprenticeships.
• To support learners on a one to one basis, working with the teaching staff who deliver the qualification to ensure that learners are attending classes and are progressing appropriately.
• To support learners in putting together a portfolio of evidence ready for their End Point Assessment.
• Complete reviews with learners and employers out in the workplace to ensure that all learners are working in a safe environment and are making progress in their apprenticeship role in the workplace.
• Support learners in their preparation for their end point assessment.
• Seek out new business opportunities and promote training to employers

Main Duties for this role include
