Are you passionate about developing the next generation of engineers?

Join Pearson TQ and play a key role in delivering high-quality training to apprentices on their Engineering Operative pathway. We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Coach Engineering Operative to help shape the skills, knowledge, and behaviours of our apprentices, preparing them for success in their engineering careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver robust, high-quality Apprenticeship training and assessments, ensuring apprentices meet the standards of their Engineering Operative pathway.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback to apprentices, guiding them through the progression of their learning journey.
  • Conduct individual assessments to identify each apprentice's starting point and tailor training to their needs.
  • Support apprentices in their preparation for the Gateway to Standards Apprenticeships, ensuring all requirements are met in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular workplace visits (in-person or virtual) to monitor progress and provide support.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal quality assurance procedures.
  • Foster positive relationships with apprentices, military or civilian line management, and business partners.
  • Ensure that apprentices develop positive attitudes towards learning and achieving their Apprenticeship goals.

Key Requirements:

  • Essential:
  • Experience as an Engineering Operative, with a broad knowledge of the engineering trade and Royal Engineers.
  • Experience delivering Apprenticeship training and providing effective mentoring and coaching.
  • Proven ability to manage apprenticeship programmes and meet performance targets.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using technology to support learning.
  • Strong written skills for detailed feedback and target setting.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience in preparing for Ofsted inspections.
  • Knowledge of ESFA funding requirements.
  • Familiarity with the Engineering Operative Apprenticeship Standard (see details here).
