Somerset FA, in partnership with SASP, are seeking a passionate and driven individual to lead coach development while driving the growth of girls' football through the Barclays Girls' Football Partnership. This role is a fantastic opportunity to impact on grassroots football in Somerset.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting clubs to become thriving, sustainable community hubs.
- Leading high-quality coach development programmes that create positive environments for every player.
- Delivering innovative opportunities for girls to learn, play, lead, and compete through football in schools and community settings.
- Providing tailored support to England Football Accredited Clubs, helping them embed the Thriving Community Club Framework.
- Designing and delivering coach development programmes that prioritise people as well as football outcomes.
- Mentoring, supporting and developing a diverse coaching workforce across the county.
- Delivering the Barclays Girls' Football Partnership in Mendip, Taunton, and West Somerset, increasing participation and creating more opportunities for girls to play, lead and thrive.
- Building strong relationships with schools, clubs, coaches, and partners to grow and sustain girls' football.
- Managing and deploying a team of Casual Coach Developers to meet local needs.
- Ensuring safeguarding, equality, and inclusion are at the heart of all delivery.
Requirements:
- Enthusiastic about football development and able to inspire and support others.
- -educated to A Level (or equivalent).
- UEFA B (or working towards).
- Coach development experience, ideally within grassroots football.
- Experience supporting adult learning.
- Strong project management, communication and partnership skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, inclusion and equality in sport.
- Full, clean driving licence.
- Enhanced DBS check (required).
Desirable:
- Two years' sports development experience.
- Youth Module qualification.
- Knowledge of The FA's Grassroots Football Strategy and CPD Framework.
