A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a Senior Addictions Clinical Nurse Specialist / Clinical Care Coordinator to join their Addictions Care Team. The role involves coordinating patient care, providing leadership to a multidisciplinary team, and developing clinical protocols. There is an exciting secondment/fixed-term opportunity to join the well-established Addictions Care Team at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital as a Senior Addictions Clinical Nurse Specialist / Clinical Care Coordinator for the Addiction Clinical Care Suite (ACCS).
The ACCS admits patients requiring medically assisted withdrawal/stabilisation from drugs and/or alcohol. This is a 7-day, 24-hour service.
This role has been developed to ensure the smooth coordination of care delivered to patients admitted to the pathway and to support them throughout their journey with input from key stakeholders.
The role of Senior CNS/Clinical Care Coordinator is open to registered Nurses (RGN/RMN) or registered Allied Health Professionals/Occupational Therapists with a strong background or interest in Addictions, homeless health, and mental health care delivery. The clinical coordinator will be responsible for delivering evidence-based care and ensuring the effective and efficient flow of the pathway, including bed management.
The post holder will provide professional leadership within the clinical area, offering direction and inspirational leadership to all members of the multidisciplinary team working with the ACCS. They will also be involved in developing protocols, guidelines, and patient information.

Work involves shift patterns of days and nights, given the 24-hour service nature of the ACCS.

The post holder will develop, implement, and evaluate a seamless specialist addictions service, ensuring high standards of clinical care. They will act as a service coordinator, providing expert advice, education, and support to healthcare professionals and patients. Clinical audits and research activities within the specialist area will also be undertaken.
The role includes contributing to the development of clinical practice, policies, protocols, and guidelines, and collaborating with multidisciplinary colleagues on service development. The post emphasizes promoting dignity and human rights through person-centred care principles.
