Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services is seeking a Site Protection Officer to safeguard a Critical National Infrastructure site in the Wokingham/Reading area. The role involves patrolling, CCTV monitoring, access control, and incident response within a high-security environment.

You will hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence, UK driving licence, and be comfortable working a 12-hour rotating shift pattern (4 on/4 off; 2 days and 2 nights). A clear fitness and security vetting process is included.

Qualifications

• Fluent English—strong verbal and written communication.
• Good observational and situational awareness.
• Ability to follow security procedures and instructions.
• Proficient in MS Office and general IT.
• Knowledge of health, safety and security best practices.
• Ability to identify and respond to security risks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct internal and external patrols in high-security areas.
• Monitor CCTV, access control and alarms; respond to risks.
• Manage staff/visitor access per site procedures.
• Carry out searches per security policies.
• Respond to incidents; escalate as needed.
• Maintain records using site systems (e.g., MERLIN or similar).
• Provide professional, welcoming presence as first point of contact.
