Job description

Job Description

Let's make our world safer, smarter, better.

Are you ready to take up a vital role in shaping some of our exciting projects? How about joining our talented team, where everyone has a voice, and together we face our clients' problems head-on. It's a diverse and inclusive work environment where world-class talent knows no distinctions.

As a Consultant Project Manager in 'Aerospace, Defence, Security and Technology' (ADS&T), you'll be part of our Programme Delivery Practice. In your role, you'll enable organisations to achieve maximum benefits from digital transformation and innovative operations. You'll work directly with clients, identifying, shaping and managing better delivery capabilities. You'll be supported to lead your own work packages or Agile delivery teams across our markets.

Your purpose:

  • You will manage projects within our Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) market.
  • You will support the Project Director with activities including but not limited to bids and proposal development; project delivery to meet expected time, cost and quality outcomes; financial budgeting, planning, and reporting; and generation of management information.
  • You will demonstrate good communication and engagement skills, specifically with client and project stakeholders, to manage escalated issues and develop strong relationships in support of ongoing delivery and business development.
  • You will support the delivery of work in line with high regulated quality management environments in support of but not limited to internal and external audit processes.

What you can bring:

  • Practical project management experience coupled with a sound understanding of structured and agile methodologies (e.g. APMP, PRINCE2, SAFe, MSP, DSDM, Scrum).
  • Demonstration of clear delivery experience within one or more of the following CNI sectors: Road and Rail; Aviation; Water; Nuclear and Power Renewables.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing and operating Project Governance, Controls and Reporting processes related to Planning, Risks/Issues, Finance and Change Management.
  • Experience of undertaking accountable Project Manager roles on multidisciplinary projects (>£1M fees per annum). Delivery of project management and contract administration through the project life cycle. Experience of managing outputs through different gated design stages from the perspective of a contractor or client would be advantageous.
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen (understanding of contracts, especially NEC 3 or NEC 4, and able to manage internal and external change effectively). Having CEMAR experience would be of benefit.
  • Experience leading the project team – building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding, and developing the team.
  • Strong collaborative behaviors to interface with client, contractors, other supply chain partners and the wider stakeholder communities.
  • Degree qualified and a Chartered member of a recognized professional institute with recognized level of Project Management competence (MAPM, MCMI, MICE, PMQ or equivalent).
  • Ensuring safety is prioritized throughout delivery.

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.

We are committed to promoting a diverse and inclusive community - a place where we can all be ourselves, thrive and develop. To help embed inclusion for all, from day one, we offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements and employee networks to support staff from different backgrounds. As an Equal Opportunities Employer, we value applications from all backgrounds, cultures and ability.
