Job summary
Dowson Food Machinery is seeking a practical CNC Machinist for turning operations. You will set and run CNC turning machines, read engineering drawings, and inspect your own work to ensure quality within tolerances.
Experience with Haas, Eumach or Dah Lih machines is ideal; training will be provided to develop skills in setting and programming. Monday-Thursday daytime hours with some overtime available.
Qualifications
- GCSE Maths and English at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent.
- Apprentice-trained, time-served or able to demonstrate equivalent practical machining experience.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and work accurately to tolerances.
Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC turning machines safely and efficiently.
- Carry out facing, parting, boring, threading, tapping and drilling.
- Use existing programs and make minor edits when required.
- Work accurately from engineering drawings and tolerances.
- Inspect finished components and maintain high quality standards.
- Keep your work area safe and organised, support stock control and meet production targets.
