Job description

Manufacture of aircraft bushes to precision limits in accordance with company procedures/ OHM/ CMM/ SOPM.

Duties and Responsibilities:

All employees are required to use the LTLGS Integrated Quality Management System IQ Move.

  • Work on two and three axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • Preferably have experience in CNC programming on Fanuc controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Work with imperial measuring equipment.
  • Manufacture bushes, sleeves, and nuts for aircraft components such as landing gears, flap, and track systems.
  • Rework and overhaul components for the airline industry.
  • Understand and adhere to the company's environmental procedures.
  • Maintain a Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
  • Potentially train personnel in your area of expertise, depending on qualifications and experience.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety, environmental regulations, and company procedures.

Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes:

  • At least GCSE level education or equivalent.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Extensive experience with internal and external grinding machines, with knowledge of both.
  • Aerospace background is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience with cylindrical and surface grinding machines.
  • Experience with two and three axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience in CNC programming.
  • Team player with leadership and guidance skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a matrix environment.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and operational skills.
  • Ability to translate vision into strategy and execute effectively.
  • Analytical decision-making skills, focusing on root causes.
  • Self-motivated with a flexible approach.
  • Commercial acumen to deliver profitable growth and sustainable change.
  • Confident decision-maker and ability to develop others.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods with regular breaks.
  • Capability to lift heavy aircraft components.

Compliance and Onboarding:

  • Must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions.
  • Mandatory training will be provided.

Working Conditions:

  • Work days: Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday, depending on business needs.
  • 37.5 hours per week, with shift options (06:30 - 14:30 and 14:25 - 22:25).
  • Flexibility required for overtime and weekend work.
  • Manual handling skills are necessary.
  • Use of complex machinery involved.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace to a 5S standard.
