Salary: Up to £34,078.69

About the role:

Manufacture of aircraft bushes to precision limits in accordance with company procedures/ OHM/ CMM/ SOPM.

Duties and Responsibilities:

All employees are required to use the LTLGS Integrated Quality Management System IQ Move.

  • Working on two and three axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience of CNC programming preferable on Fanuc controls.
  • To be able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • To be able to work with imperial measuring equipment.
  • Manufacturing bushes, sleeves and nuts for Aircraft components e.g.:- Landing gears, flap and track systems.
  • Also reworking and overhauling components for the airline industry.
  • An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental procedures.
  • You will be required to maintain Practical Experience Record (PER) book.
  • You may be required to train personnel with a specified area subject to your qualifications and experience.
  • All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety and Environmental Regulations and Company Procedures.

Qualifications, Experience and Attributes required:

  • Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
  • Extensive experience working internal and external grinding machines. Knowledge of both essential.
  • Aerospace background not essential but would be preferred.
  • Experience of working with cylindrical and surface grinding machines
  • Experience in two and three axis CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • Experience of CNC programming.
  • Team player with proven ability to manage, lead and guidance.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages.
  • Excellent communications skills and able to work within a matrix environment.
  • Good organisational skills with strong planning and operational execution.
  • Excellent planning, problem solving organisation and administration skills.
  • Able to turn vision into strategy and execute.
  • Decision maker, analysing for root causes rather than presenting the problem.
  • Self-motivated with flexible approach.
  • Able to deliver profitable growth through excellent commercial skills and deliver sustainable change.
  • Engage others and develop their potential with confident decision-making skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • The job requires the applicant to stand for a prolonged amount of time with a number of breaks throughout the day.
  • The position and process involves lifting heavy aircraft components.

Compliance and Onboarding:

  • Candidate must have the right to live and work in the UK unrestricted.
  • Mandatory Training will be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Monday - Friday or Tuesday - Saturday (depending business needs)
  • 37.5 hours per week Able to work shifts (06:30 - 14:30 and 14:25 - 22:25)
  • The position requires from time to time flexibility in working hours including working overtime at weekends.
  • The job requires the applicant to understand manual handling.
  • The position involves the use of complex machinery.
  • The ability to keep your working area clean and tidy and to a 5s standard.
