Job description

Job Title: CNC Turner

Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire

Salary: 14 - 16 per hour depending on experience

Hours: 4 Day compressed working week. Hours of work 6am - 4.30pm (Mon - Wed), 6am - 3.30pm (Thurs) Overtime availability is good.

Holidays: 23 days plus 8 days bank holiday entitlement

Actio Recruitment are seeking a CNC Turner for a client based in Sheffield who are a well-established precision engineering company specialising in high-quality subcontract machining solutions for various industries.

Role Overview:

They are seeking a CNC Setter/Operator Turner with expertise in Fanuc to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision components to exact specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting, and operating CNC lathes using Fanuc controls.(Editing programmes is desirable but not essential)
  • Minimum 5 years relevant Fanuc experience.
  • Ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Troubleshooting of manufacturing problems associated with CNC Turning.
  • Conversant with cutting tool philosophies and techniques.
  • Must have knowledge of processes and tooling for machining of high temperature alloys.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner in a precision engineering environment.
  • Ability to set up and reset machines multiple times per day.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to perform quality inspections.
  • A proactive and reliable work ethic, with the ability to manage multiple machines simultaneously.
