Job description

JRS Associates have partnered with a well-established engineering firm to recruit a skilled CNC Turner, experienced in setting and operating PUMA 12L Turning Lathes. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking company supplying into the aerospace and automotive sectors.

The Successful CNC Turner Package:

  • GBP22.20 per hour (GBP53,564.16 per annum)

  • Shift - 46.40 Hours Weekday Night Shift 18.00 - 06.00 Monday - Thursday

  • Overtime available

The Successful CNC Turner Role Accountabilities:

  • Set and operate a PUMA 12L Turning Lathe to produce precision components

  • Use and control CNC programs in line with company procedures

  • Read and understand CNC code to set up and operate machinery effectively

  • Understand and apply set-up parameters including datum setting, tool length, and wear offsets

  • Set up machines with the required workholding and tooling

  • Work collaboratively to maximise machine utilisation

  • Follow structured manufacturing plans to meet production schedules

  • Carry out Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) on machinery

  • Use a variety of measuring equipment Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Height Towers, Shadow Graphs, CMM, etc.

  • Ensure high-quality output in line with company standards

The Successful CNC Turner Person Specification:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the Aerospace/Automotive sectors

  • Apprentice-trained (preferred) or proven experience in a similar role

  • Confident working from SOPs and technical documentation

  • Strong attention to detail and quality focus

  • Able to work effectively to deadlines within a manufacturing environment

  • Proactive, self-motivated, and a team player

  • Capable of managing workload and prioritising tasks when required
