Job summary

A recruitment firm in engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Turner for programming, setting, and operating 2 axis turning machines. The ideal candidate will have proven experience and the ability to work with little supervision. Responsibilities include producing precision parts and in-process inspections. Candidates should feel confident handling large parts. Night shifts are available.

Qualifications

• Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis turning machines.
• Ability to write CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision.
• Experience with in-process inspection using measuring equipment.

Responsibilities

• Produce one-off and low to medium volume precision parts.
• Edit prewritten CNC programs and set up machines.
• Work on large parts using lifting equipment.

Job description

Looking for an experienced CNC Turner - Programmer setter operator - Fanuc

Working Lates/Nights

Experience Required

• Proven time served experience in programming, setting and operating 2 axis turning machines.
• Ability to write new CNC programs long hand at the machine with little or no supervision.
• Also, editing prewritten programs, the full machine setup including material, tooling, speeds, feeds.
• Carry out in-process inspection using measuring equipment.
• Producing one off, as well as low to medium volume precision parts in a range of hard and soft metals.
• Excellent working knowledge of 2 axis CNC machines, cutting speeds and feeds, geometric tolerances.
• Solid understanding of interpreting engineering drawings and standards.
• Experience of Fanuc controls would be advantageous.
• Have a strong working history within the manufacturing industry within a machine shop environment.
• Have a hands-on, quality driven, positive, self-motivated manner in order to be able to hit the ground running.
• Confident in working on parts up to 300mm x 3m in length, using lifting equipment provided as some of our work can be large. Hoist training will also be provided.
