Job summary

BPA, a leading precision engineering specialist based in Daventry, is seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join our manufacturing team. You will set, operate and optimise turning centres to produce high‑precision components to tight tolerances for Motorsport, Automotive, Aerospace and Defence sectors.

Qualifications

  • Experience as CNC Turner in precision engineering environment.
  • Strong experience setting and operating CNC lathes, including Fanuc/Siemens controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Experience with prototype and low-volume production to tight tolerances.
  • Knowledge of tooling, cutting data, and measurement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Set, operate, and optimise CNC turning centres to produce high‑precision components.
  • Read engineering drawings and ensure parts meet quality standards and tolerances.
  • Select tooling, optimise speeds/feeds, and contribute to process improvements.
  • Perform in‑process inspections using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, etc.
  • Support production schedules and ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Triage and resolve machining issues to minimise downtime and maintain quality.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Planning, Engineering and Management teams.
