Job summary

Gregory Martin International in the United Kingdom is seeking a skilled CNC Turner Setter/Programmer to join our manufacturing team in West Byfleet. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to produce precision components to tight tolerances, often using exotic materials.

You will read engineering drawings, select tools, set speeds and feeds, and conduct in-process inspections. Overtime and shift work may be required; a strong focus on quality, safety and continuous

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Turner with track record of precision machining.
• Experience machining exotic materials and difficult alloys.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
• Overtime and shift flexibility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set, program and operate CNC turning machines.
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances (microns).
• Work with exotic materials such as Inconel, Titanium, Hastelloy, Duplex.
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds and feeds.
• Conduct in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
• Ensure all parts meet quality standards.
• Troubleshoot machining issues and adjust processes.
• Follow safety procedures.
• Additional duties may be assigned as required.

Skills

Proven experience as a CNC Turner

Experience machining exotic materials

Ability to machine complex components

CNC programming experience

Ability to read engineering drawings &

Understanding of tooling & machining

Experience with inspection & quality

Strong attention to detail

Education

Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.

Experience in aerospace, oil & gas or defence sectors.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.

Knowledge of lean manufacturing.
